Since November of 2010 American Express has been encouraging Americans to ‘Shop Small' by declaring the Saturday after Thanksgiving as Small Business Saturday.  This year on Saturday, November 30th join local consumers and businesses in your community in support of Small Business Saturday.

This is a day where you can purposefully shop at your favorite mom and pop shop, get your hair cut at a local salon, eat at your favorite hometown restaurant and indulge at the bakery down the street.  As the holiday season kicks off and the big box stores bombard us with advertising, deals and extended hours don't forget about the local small businesses which add character to your community.  These shops create local jobs, support your community and build up your economy.
