Editor's Note: Sadly, in September of 2018 Manchester Wood closed its factory doors after 42 years of manufacturing high quality furniture. Please continue to support American companies so they don't have the same fate.
October is Manufacturing Month, a month dedicated to informing the public about the vast field of American manufacturing. What better way for us to start out Manufacturing Month than to celebrate the 40th anniversary of an American furniture manufacturing company, Manchester Wood.
Manchester Wood Furniture: Made in the USA for Forty Years and Counting
Located in the Adirondacks and Green Mountains, Manchester Wood is a family run business that manufactures heirloom quality, solid wood furniture.
Manchester Wood was founded in 1976 by Clifford “Cliff” Pierce as a manufacturer of small wood products, like towel holders and spice racks. In the early 1980s, the company transitioned into making solid wood furniture, which included items like TV trays, and Adirondack chairs. Throughout the 80's Manchester Wood furniture designs were noticed and picked up by major national retailers. By the time the 90's rolled around, the company was in need of larger manufacturing facilities. In 1990, Manchester Wood moved its manufacturing location from Manchester, Vermont to Granville, New York, where it remains today. Over the past 40 years Manchester Wood has manufactured products for LL Bean, Crate & Barrel, JC Penney, Sears, Solution, Pottery Barn, Lands End, IKEA, Plow and Hearth, Macy's and Eddie Bauer. Since 2006, Manchester Wood has sold their own line of furniture online and in select stores.

I would really love to see more Frank LLoyd Wright, misson – style pieces and Stickley arts and craft pieces…Especially bungalow furniture!
I would love to see on a vintage piece.
I love all of your products
This company has some beautiful pieces. I would love to see more natural options, with live edges, or more pronounced grains. I love a more rustic look.
I would like to see children’s bedding and other furniture such as a toybox.
I like mid-century modern design or traditional pieces.
