Can I Find American Made Fishing Gear?
I enjoy catching the occasional trout, catfish, and old boot, and while I’m not an expert on the topic of fishing, one thing I can do is recommend fishing gear made in the USA.
Ask any angler what their favorite rod, reel, or lure is, and you might get a different answer for each person you ask.
What they will agree on is using the best, well-made gear on the market. After all, if you’re fishing, you don’t want the “big one” to get away due to faulty equipment.
Whether you're serious about the sport of fishing, or you simply enjoy some time on the water, you want to spend your hard-earned money on quality supplies. Begin with fishing gear made in the good ole USA.
Fishing gear goes beyond a rod and reel. Today, the net is cast much wider in the fishing world with specialty lines, lures, and even apparel. And when you buy made in the USA, you're getting more than a product; you're getting a promise.
Why Made in The USA Fishing Gear?
Most of the fishing gear you’ll find on the list isn’t mass-produced inside a big factory. Rather, it comes from a small shop where R&D occurs in the water, be it freshwater or saltwater, still fishing or bottom fishing. Not only that, those who design the gear combine knowledge and passion, whether the knowledge comes from engineering or from the sport itself.
American made fishing gear guarantees the manufacturer meets USA standards in production, employment, health and safety, and compensation. Buying made in the USA keeps the local, state, and federal economy moving forward.
What This List Covers
Looking at every consideration for this sport would be an endless task. For this article, we’ll “reel in” our focus to include rods, reels, lines, lures, apparel, and tackle boxes. As you visit a company’s website, you’ll likely read the stories of the people behind the scenes. They’re the reel deal, and they’re not fishing for compliments. They just want to share their joy in fishing.
All in all, we’ve discovered some pretty amazing American-made fishing gear. Keep reading to find out what you’ll choose for your next fishing trip!
